ConGen3

On September 27-29 the American Genetic Association 3rd biannual International Conservation Genetics Symposium is held at the Sackler Institute for Comparative Genomics of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

ConGen3 is co-organized by George Amato (AMNH), Gisella Caccone (Yale University), and Rob DeSalle (AMNH). The American Genetic Association and the American Museum of Natural History are sponsoring ConGen3.

Session Topics

  • Genetic research for biodiversity surveys, characterization of unique microbial communities, and Barcoding initiatives.
  • Conservation Genetics in Time: conservation phylogenetics and tree reconstruction for identification of hidden biodiversity and examination of hybrid zones.
  • Conservation Genetics in Space: landscape conservation genetics including explicit spatial modeling.
  • Ex Situ Conservation Genetics: intensive metapopulation management in theory and practice.
  • Conservation Genetics of Invasive Species: patterns and control.
